Cardiff City have completed the loan signing of Alfie Doughty, and Jordan Hugill is set to join too.
Bluebirds boss Steve Morison was adamant that he would not be waiting around until Monday's deadline to get his final two targets over the line.
It was hoped that Ryan Giles would return, however it is understood that Wolves' heel-dragging prompted Cardiff to turn their attentions elsewhere and move for Doughty.
The Stoke City man has operated at left-back and on the left wing for the Potters this term, making him the ideal candidate to provide competition for that left-back spot.
The 22-year-old has been limited to substitute appearances in the Championship this term, so the move to Cardiff represents an opportunity for him to get more regular game-time under his belt.

As for Hugill, the striker has struggled to break his way into West Brom's starting line-up this season.
He has started in just seven of his 20 Championship appearances this term, scoring one goal in the process.
The 29-year-old, along with his parent club Norwich City, thought it best to cut his loan stint short and look elsewhere for opportunities in the back half of the season.
Cardiff have wanted to add in the forward department all window, having to rely frequently on rookie strikers so far in this campaign.
Hugill scored 13 goals in 39 games for QPR in the 2019/20 season, earning him a move to the Canaries, but it hasn't quite worked out for him since. He will be desperate to get some regular minutes and goals behind him once the final bits of his paperwork are thrashed out on Saturday.
Meanwhile, Cardiff have, at the time of writing, still not received any offers for Kieffer Moore amid reported interest from Bournemouth. Although, as ever, that can quickly change as we hurtle towards deadline day.
It means Cardiff have brought in four players, following the arrivals of Cody Drameh from Leeds United and Tommy Doyle from Manchester City respectively, as well as recalling Ryan Wintle and Max Watters from their loan spells.
With six players in the building and, so far, none having moved out, the club feel this looks a far better-stocked Championship squad with ample competition for places all over the pitch.
