Illness has plagued the Cardiff City camp ahead of their clash with Leeds United this weekend. Mark Hudson’s side make the trip to Elland Road aiming to extend their five-game unbeaten run against the Whites.
The Bluebirds have not tasted defeat to Leeds since Chris Wood and Pablo Hernandez scored in a 2-0 win at the Cardiff City Stadium. However, a bout of flu has provided an added obstacle in their quest to continue that run.
Cedric Kipre, Gavin Whyte and star striker Callum Robinson are all out due to illness. Mahlon Romeo (hamstring) and long-serving absentee Jamilu Collins (ACL) are also out, while Kion Ete (hamstring) could make an appearance.

“Kion will be his first day on the grass tomorrow,” Hudson said at his pre-match press conference, as per our colleagues at Wales Online. “It took longer than we thought, with a slight hamstring strain. He is unlikely to be seen against Leeds.
“Robbo is ill and under the weather, (it is) unlikely you’ll see him. Gav has been ill, and Cedric has been ill. Mahlon has had a scan on his hamstring and he could be four to six weeks out.
“There’s a lot that’s been going around. They have pushed themselves to the limit. When your body is empty you’ll likely pick up some bugs. Robbo has been off since the game.”
Hudson also praised Leeds and head coach Jesse Marsch for their footballing philosophy. The 40-year-old is also aware of Cardiff’s recent success against the Whites.
“Yeah, 6,500 are coming down,” Hudson added. “I watched the team last night. They like to play counter-press football. A manager that is extremely enthusiastic about the way they play. It’s something to look forward to.
“When you play a Premier League team you will be an underdog, but we have focused on how we can get forward and pose a threat. It’s a team that we’ve done well against historically and we look forward to it.”
