Cardiff City have completed the loan signing of Everton left-back Niels Nkounkou.
The youngster joins the Bluebirds on a season-long loan deal.
The move came somewhat out of the blue but is in response to long and short-term injuries sustained by Jamilu Collins and Joel Bagan in recent weeks.
Collins is out for the season after suffering a knee injury against West Brom, while Bagan is currently sidelined with concussion.
It is unclear if Nkounkou, who is believed to have signed a new deal with the Toffees before heading to south Wales, is available for selection for Saturday's clash with Preston North End at Cardiff City Stadium.
Speaking after signing at CCS, Nkounkou, said: "It feels good; I’m very happy to come here, and ready to start. I am a left-back, I’m a good defender, and I like to play forward.
"I’ve played one game in the Premier League, and I’m ready to play in the Championship now. I’m excited, and ready for the season.
"The stadium is good, the team is good and the fans are good! I am looking forward to playing."
He will wear the number 37 shirt for the Bluebirds.
