Cardiff City are reportedly keen on Rangers youngster Kyle McClelland, but could well face stern competition for his signature.
With a disappointing Championship campaign now completed, Cardiff are ready to step up their summer transfer plans, and the Daily Record claims City have identified the centre-back as a possible option.
But Cardiff are not alone in their interest, with Sheffield United and Huddersfield among the other clubs credited with an interest.

Sources have indicated to WalesOnline that fellow Scottish side Hibernian are firmly in the mix, although it's not clear just how far along their interest is at this stage.
The Northern Irishman spent a chunk of last season on loan at Falkirk, but has been a key part of the Rangers B team in the Lowland League this time around. He's also been named on the bench for the first team on several occasions.
But the club have shown some reluctance to offer the 20-year-old a new deal, with his current contract set to expire this summer. Financially, it's a move that would certainly fit the bill for Cardiff, who are unlikely to splash the cash in this window.
Should he leave Glasgow, Rangers would be due a development fee, but reports in Scotland claim the club are more interested in securing a sell-on clause as part of the terms of his departure.
Cardiff are facing a summer of heavy upheaval, and could sign as many as 15 players in this window. And Bluebirds boss Steve Morison has already confirmed that the free transfer market is likely to be a big part of those plans
"We will try and do as many permanent transfers as we can," he told the BBC's EJFOF. "The majority will be free transfers. We will use the loan market to add those bits to it if we need it, because you can handpick that a bit more from what you can't get, free transfer-wise.
"I don't see this as me going and picking the team I want. This is me working in collaboration with the club into the way we want this football club to go; more sustainable, attractive, a place where people want to come and play football."
