O'Dowda out of Huddersfield clash
Sabri Lamouchi says Callum O'Dowda will miss the rest of the season after suffering a concussion.
The 28-year-old was withdrawn as a precaution halfway through Cardiff's 2-1 win over Rotherham United Thursday night, after taking a blow to the head, and Lamouchi has confirmed the former Bristol City man won't be available this weekend.
Meanwhile, Jak Alnwick also looks likely to start in goal once again, despite Ryan Allsop making a return to training.
"Callum O'Dowda was out yesterday [Thursday] for concussion, so he will be out for the next two games.
"These are the rules from the EFL. So we will respect the rules as always. But Callum will be out.
"Ryan Allsop may not be available. He's training this morning. We will see tomorrow but we'll probably start with Jak again."
Lamouchi throws backing behind Kaba
Cardiff City boss Sabri Lamouchi says he has no concerns over Sory Kaba's confidence following the striker's latest penalty miss.
Kaba missed his second penalty in a week during the 2-1 win over Rotherham United on Thursday night, rattling the crossbar on the stroke of half-time.
It's the fifth penalty Cardiff have missed this season, and there will likely be real questions over who will take over spot-kick duties should they receive another over the next two games.
Asked who would potentially step up against Huddersfield on Sunday, the Cardiff boss joked: "Not Kaba, at all!" before adding: "He's doing very well. He's happy here. He came to me to discuss yesterday night about how he feels about the club, the players, the fans, the squad, the atmosphere here. It's unbelievable for him.
"He's been magic for us and had a big impact. So thank you to Kaba for everything."
Asked specifically on whether there might be a reason behind the recent penalty woes, he continued: "He's thinking too much about it. When you think too much about it, you need to be very, very confident and he wasn't in this case.
"But Kaba is a competitor. It was perhaps not the best performance, but it wasn't a bad one.
"I'm not worried at all with Kaba."
Etete - It feels like a weight off
Kion Etete admits it felt "like a weight lifted" when Cedric Kipre netted his dramatic late winner against Rotherham, and says captain Joe Ralls was a key factor in dragging the Bluebirds over the line at the New York Stadium
Etete netted himself to give the Bluebirds the lead, before Cardiff were pegged back by Chiedozie Ogbene's header before half-time.
But Kipre's winner handed Cardiff a precious three points, much to the delight of the travelling 800 fans, and the players themselves.
“It’s a massive goal,” Etete said. “It could be a decider of whether we stay up. When it hit the back of the net, it was just like a weight lifted.
“After that, we had the seven minutes of added time, and I was just trying to pull myself through it, just drag in. But Rallsy, our captain, he was just always chipping in at us, and you just hear him in the back of your head, and it just got us through at the end."
Warnock to make late call on Hogg fitness
Huddersfield boss Neil Warnock is set to make a late fitness call on Jonathan Hogg head of Sunday's trip to Cardiff City.
Hogg sat out Town's last game at Sunderland, but could yet play some part in the trip to south Wales.
There's also a decision to be made on the goalkeeping front, with Thomas Vaclik and Lee Nicholls both fit. However, loanee Anthony Knockaert won't feature.
Warnock said: "The good news is we've got two keepers! I don't think one of them can play out though, so I'll have to choose one of them... I haven't made my mind up yet.
"It's great to have two number ones. Tomas has done well but Lee by all accounts was one of the best keepers in the league before his injury. Jonathan Hogg is struggling a little bit, but you never know with Jonathan. We'll see.
"We have a couple of doubts for the weekend but I won't go into that, a couple of niggles in training."
On Knockaert, Warnock added: "He's not involved at the moment. I only have seven subs I can use."
