Here are your Cardiff City headlines for Thursday, October 6.
Clinton Morrison: I'd give Mark Hudson the job
Pundit and former Crystal Palace striker Clinton Morrison has urged the Bluebirds to hire Mark Hudson on a full-time basis.
The former forward played with Hudson at Crystal Palace and is a close friend of the interim Cardiff manager.

And he believes, taking into account his friendship bias, Cardiff should appoint Hudson permanently, claiming he will get things "tactically spot on".
"He wants to win. He is definitely a winner," Morrison said on ITV's EFL Highlights show. "Huds is a great lad. He is one of those who you knew would be a coach. There are certain players you play with, they are busy, he is a very busy man.
"But he is busy but in a very good way. Tactically, he will get it spot on. He didn't play Harris, he brought him on and told him to make an impact. I think he'll do a good job.
"Mark Hudson, he is the interim, I'd give him the job. Not just because he's my mate, because he's a good coach and has done all the hard work to get there. We need to see more younger coaches in the game."
Mahlon Romeo out of Wigan clash
Mahlon Romeo is likely to miss this weekend's clash with Blackburn Rovers owing to an ankle injury he sustained against Blackburn Rovers.
Romeo was brought off in the 23rd minute and replaced by Jack Simpson in the home win on Tuesday night and it appears this weekend's clash with Wigan will be too soon for him.
"Romeo has got an injury to his ankle. It’s settled better than it looked after the game. It’s looking likely he will probably miss the weekend. We are waiting on the timescale of that one," Hudson said of Romeo.
"He has been really good. He’s a good character. Top professional and started the game really well. It’s a shame.
"Throughout the season he has been a great addition to the squad. Fingers crossed it’s not too bad."
It is likely Perry Ng will shift over to the right-back position, with Simpson set to come in for a start at the heart of the defence. However, Hudson has also spoken highly of Vontae Daley-Campbell's work ethic in training and he is also pushing for involvement.
"He has been training really well. Really well," Hudson said of Daley-Campbell. "He puts himself about in training, leaves it all on the grass. Hopefully we won’t lose Mahlon for long. It shows the squad we’ve got."
Colwill out for 'a couple of weeks'
Rubin Colwill is likely to miss the next few weeks with a hip flexor injury.
It is a potential setback in Colwill's bid to make the plane for Rob Page's World Cup squad next month as Hudson revealed the young playmaker will miss the next few matches.
In a full injury round-up, Hudson said: "Isaak [Davies] is starting to get going but is limited with weight-bearing.
"Rubin had a nick in his hip-flexor. He won't be ruled out for too long. A couple of weeks maybe, but he has started to creep back on the grass which is good. That was a bit of a worry at the time, but a couple of weeks is not too bad. He isn't going to lose too much within that time.
"Ebs [Ebou Adams] is edging closer back to the grass sooner rather than later. Before the World Cup is the plan. He is such a good character to have around. He has stayed so positive. It's so disappointing when you come to a new club and get injured.
"He is still walking around the training ground with a smile on his face and still pushing. I think it looks likely he will be back before the World Cup. We will have to see how he reacts when he gets back on to the grass."
Hudson responds to Ledley and Gabbidon speculation
Mark Hudson today responded to questions about speculation surrounding Joe Ledley and Danny Gabbidon being linked with the vacant spot on Cardiff City's coaching staff.
Hudson has confirmed he has been given the green light to add another member to his coaching staff, with Ledley's name being flung about on social media in the last few days.
Asked if there was any update on the search for a new coach to join his staff, he said he was "getting there" but does not want to rush the process.
Asked specifically about Ledley and Gabbidon, Hudson replied: " There is going to be speculation. Two people who have been at the football club and know what it means… I have to make sure it’s the right one.
"I’m best mates with Joe so obviously he is going to be linked. They have been here before. But I have spoke to quite a few coaches in the game. I just want to make sure it’s the right one for the football club. It won’t be rushed."
Lee Tomlin announces retirement
Former Cardiff City Player of the Season Lee Tomlin has announced his retirement from football at the age of 33.
Tomlin was plagued with injury woes during his time in south Wales, but he was a shining light under Neil Harris during the club's surge to the play-offs in the 2019/20 season.
His contract was terminated at Cardiff a year ago and he has gone on to play for Walsall and most recently Doncaster Rovers.
“After much consideration I have decided to retire from the beautiful game. I’ve been fortunate enough to have the career I dreamt about every night as a kid and have nothing but fond memories and love for the game.
"It’s been a rollercoaster at times, but I wouldn’t change a thing. A big thanks to all my clubs and the players and staff that I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside.
“And of course, a huge thank you to the amazing fans. Without your support, it wouldn’t have been the experience it was. Looking forward to the next chapter, thank you!”
Tomlin started his career at Rushden & Diamonds before moving on to Peterborough, Middlesbrough, Bournemouth and Bristol City before Cardiff.
The playmaker, who scored 10 goals in 56 games for the Bluebirds, has also said he has sights on moving into coaching next.
"For the first few months I just want to spend time with the family, and be there as much as I can for them," he told Sky Sports. "I want to make sure they're all alright and happy.
"But then it'll be going on to do my coaching badges and kicking on from there. I'm on my final assessment on my B Licence. Then it's onto my A Licence and my Pro Licence. It's not something I'm going to rush into, but I will be doing more of it now I've got the time to do it.
"I've had a lot of old-school managers, and some new managers, and you can pick up little things from each of them. That's what I'd love to be."
