Benjamin praised by Purse
Cardiff City Under-21 coach Darren Purse praised the maturity of Xavier Benjamin in his side's 4-1 over Colchester United this week.
A host of first-team names were thrown into the mix for the clash at Cardiff City Stadium, with interim boss Mark Hudson in the stands watching on.
Jak Alnwick, Vontae Campbell, Joel Bagan, Gavin Whyte, Kion Etete, Max Watters, Jaden Philogene featured, with Etete, Whyte, Philogene and Ollie Tanner getting on the score sheet.

But was Benjamin who was singled out by his manager, who he described as "excellent" among more senior professionals.
"It was disappointing to concede the goal," said Purse. "We dominated for large periods and probably didn't deserve to concede as we did, but perhaps that's the concentration levels and keeping the levels up enough to keep a clean sheet.
" Xav [Xavier Benjamin] is the captain of the U21s, and when he plays he plays like a captain, he's the voice that you hear out there and he demands more of those around him. He put in a captain's performance today, and with more experienced players around him as well, I thought he was excellent.
"It was nice for the younger players to step up to it, and nice to see some good performances as well."
Davies back in training
Interim boss Mark Hudson has been handed a huge boost with news striker Isaak Davies has returned to training.
The club posted a picture of the youngster back out on the grass on their Instagram account. Davies has been missing so far this season through injury, and his return to the fold is a real boon for the Bluebirds, who have struggled for goals in recent weeks.
Main striker Callum Robinson is suspended for the next three games following his sending off at Swansea City on Sunday, meaning Kion Etete, Mark Harris and Max Watters will be vying for a starting spot against Rotherham United at the weekend.
Davies will be hoping to play some part for the Bluebirds before the season pauses for the World Cup next month.
Murphy's woes continue
Former Cardiff winger Josh Murphy's woes are continuing with new club Oxford United.
The 27-year-old has only featured four times since joining The U's, missing a large chunk of the season to date, returning to the fray in the past few weeks.
Unfortunately, though, he has picked up another injury and his manager Karl Robinson revealed a lot needs to be ticked off to get Murphy back involved.
Speaking about Murphy and team-mate Sam Baldock, Robinson said : "Sam’s in the scanner and Josh we’re looking at one or two weeks to try and get back up to speed.
“Sometimes he might be on the bench, preferably not at the moment, there’s a lot of things we have to make sure we get right with him.”
Walters in Bellamy nod
Former Stoke striker Jonathan Walters says Vincent Kompany and Craig Bellamy have set Burnley up on "a different level" following their 1-0 over Norwich City on Tuesday night.
The Clarets are the form team in the division and sit atop of the Championship table with a third of the season gone. They look destined for a return to the Premier League at the first time of asking, and Walters believes the coaching duo are doing a superb job at Turf Moor and has backed them for promotion.
He wrote on Twitter: "Burnley Vs Norwich last night. @VincentKompany and Craig Bellamy have this team setup tactically on a different level. Creating and solving problems all over the pitch. Promotion for me."
