Here's your round-up of all the latest Cardiff City news for Wednesday, February 15.
Birmingham release statement after racist incident
Birmingham City have revealed Troy Deeney was subjected to racist abuse in the wake of their 2-0 defeat to Cardiff City on Tuesday night.
It's alleged that when Deeney made his way off the field at full time, he was racially abused by someone in the home section of the Gil Merrick lower.
The incident was then reported to stewards, and an investigation has now been launched.
A club statement said: “After the full-time whistle of Tuesday night’s Sky Bet Championship match against Cardiff City, Troy Deeney and a number of supporters have reported hearing the 34-year-old subjected to racist abuse.
“The club captain and those inside St. Andrew’s identified this as coming from the home section of the Gil Merrick lower when players were leaving the field of play towards the players’ tunnel.
“This incident has been referred to the relevant authorities and the club will assist in their investigation. Blues gives its full support to Troy and is appalled and saddened that yet again, one of our players is not safe from discrimination on the football pitch. There is no room for racism in the game.”
Lamouchi's message for Ng
Sabri Lamouchi has revealed he told Perry Ng to put his 'feet in the fridge' ahead of Tuesday's win at St Andrew's, after watching the defender smash in an impressive free-kick during training this week.
Ng handed his side the lead with a superb dead-ball strike within the final 10 minutes of the game, and the quality of the goal clearly took many by surprise.
The player himself revealed he'd been working on free-kicks in training, and Lamouchi confirmed that the 26-year-old's efforts had made quite an impression this week.
Commenting on Ng's strike, Lamouchi said: "It was fantastic. Yesterday in training we had two goals from him like this. We said, 'put your feet in the fridge and tomorrow you'll give us the three points' and it was exactly like that.
"Fantastic. Congratulations to him."
Eustace - we didn't deserve to lose
Birmingham City boss John Eustace, meanwhile, insisted his side deserved more from Tuesday's clash, and says Ng's stunning free-kick was likely the difference on the night.
“I don’t think we deserved to lose, he said after the game. "It was a very scrappy game - a typical Championship game.
"Both teams cancelled each other out and the manner we lost the game was from a fantastic freekick – that was the difference.
“The opposition set up differently and it was difficult to get going. They went very long and direct and I thought we stood up to it well, winning lots of second balls in midfield. We weren’t great going forward and didn’t look like a threat, which was disappointing.
"The lads going again after an emotional night [beating West Brom], it might’ve been a bit much. We would’ve taken a draw but it’s important we don’t get too down."
