Ikpeazu's delight at Bluebirds move
Uche Ikpeazu says he's delighted to be working alongside former team-mate Sean Morrison again, and can't wait to get going in a Cardiff shirt.
Ikpeazu signed on loan from Middlesbrough during the last few hours of the January transfer window on Monday night, following a U-turn from the Teessiders, who had initially insisted on a permanent deal.
Cardiff had also made a move for Sam Surridge, but were denied when the deal was sensationally hijacked by Steve Cooper's Nottingham Forest.
That sparked a late scramble, particularly in light of Kieffer Moore's departure, but the 26-year-old was eventually confirmed as a Cardiff player before the 11pm deadline.
Speaking about the move, the forward said: "I wasn't sure if it was going to get over the line, but in the end it did, and I am delighted to come here. I'm really looking forward to it.
"I'm physically strong, but I can shoot off both feet, score goals and bring team-mates into play. I'm looking forward to doing that."
The move sees Ikpeazu link up once again with City skipper Sean Morrison, with the pair enjoying a strong relationship following their time together at the Madejski.
"I was with Sean Morrison at Reading - he's a good friend of mine, and we've always kept in contact. I was a young player at Reading while he was just breaking through, so he was someone that we looked up to. He's having a great career, and it's great to be around him again."
Roberts warning for Moore
BBC pundit Iwan Roberts believes Kieffer Moore's move to Bournemouth has given the striker a chance to one day ply his trade in the Premier League, but has warned that game time may well be harder to come by for the Wales international.
Moore completed a move to the Cherries on deadline day following much speculation, with Cardiff boss Morison claiming the 29-year-old had handed in a transfer request in order to force the move through.
Bournemouth are currently third in the Championship, with promotion very much a realistic aim, but Roberts isn't sure just how much action Moore will see over the coming weeks.
"I'm not 100 per cent sure he's going to be starting games if I'm honest," he told the Ellis James Feast of Football podcast.
"They've got Dominic Solanke up front, who had a slow start to his career. He didn't really get a chance at Liverpool, moved to Bournemouth and struggled in the Premier League.
"But he's scoring goals for fun in the Championship this season. The way they play, they do have that lone striker, and he's been that lone striker.
"So I don't know if Moore will start if Solanke is fit. He might have to spend quite a bit of time on the bench.
"It was inevitable I think. His last game was down at the Vitality, where he came off with a knock to his foot. He couldn't wait to come off that day. He hasn't played for Cardiff since for one reason or another.
"His head's been turned and he hasn't been the player this season that he was last season, let's be honest."
Roberts believes the speculation around Moore, and the failed move to Wolves in the summer, was also at least partially responsible for his struggle in recapturing the form seen last season.
"I think he was majorly disappointed that the club didn't' accept the offer from Wolves in the last transfer window in the summer. I don't think he's ever got over that.
"Bournemouth won't be too far away from that top two. he's got a chance of playing in the Premier League for the first time.
"I just don't know how many games he's going to be starting because of the form of Solanke."
Watters recall a surprise - MK chief
MK Dons sporting director Liam Sweeting admits they weren't expecting Cardiff to recall Max Watters last month.
Watters was brought back to the capital last month in a bid to improve Morison's forward options, after proving to be something of a hit in Buckinghamshire.
The 22-year-old scored seven goals in 14 games in all competitions this season, and his departure has undoubtedly come as a blow to the League One outfit.
Sweeting told the MK Citizen : “The loan recalls were tough. It made it really tough for two or three games and I have to thank the players because we were short, there were times we couldn’t name a full bench.
“We weren’t expecting them, and Max Watters in particular. Their recall period was really short, but Cardiff took advantage of it.”
