Cardiff City will begin their 2022/23 Championship season at home to Norwich City, who suffered relegation from the Premier League last season.
The Bluebirds will hope to produce a better campaign than last year and have set about bolstering their squad to ensure they don't start as sluggishly as last term. It will be Steve Morison's first full season in charge of Cardiff and he will begin by welcoming the Canaries, a club for whom he played during his own career.
The first away trip is a short jaunt down the M4 to Reading on August 6, with West Brom and Severnside rivals Bristol City the other away days in the first month of the season. The first derby of the campaign is that clash with the Robins, which will take place at Ashton Gate on Saturday, August 20.

The first South Wales derby is October 22, when they take on Swansea City at the Swansea.com Stadium. The reverse fixture won't take place until April 1, 2023.
The season has a slight quirk this year, of course, because of the World Cup. The final game before the mid-season break, so to speak, is against Sheffield United at home on November 12, before returning for an away trip to Stoke City on December 10.
City fans will enjoy another home fixture on Boxing Day, this year hosting Queens Park Rangers before a midweek trip Coventry City on December 29. On New Year's Day, the Bluebirds do face a hefty old trip up north, where they will go toe to toe with Blackburn Rovers in their first fixture of 2023.
Barring changes for TV scheduling purposes, here are the Championship fixtures for the Bluebirds next term.
