Cardiff Bay Barrage will be closed for two days while filming takes place for a popular Amazon Prime show. The closure will last for most of the day on Wednesday, November 30, and Thursday, December 1 while a production unit shoots scenes for the Alex Rider adventure series.
The barrage route will be closed from 7am to 9pm on both days. A diversion for pedestrians and cyclists will be in place via Pont y Werin bridge, Cardiff council has confirmed. The route will not be accessible between the Penarth side and the Barrage café. The barrage car park and fishing arm will also be closed to visitors during these times.
The play area and skate park will be accessible, but only from the Cardiff Bay side of the Barrage. Navigational access for boats will continue as normal through the locks, the council added.
