The Welsh Government is in talks with Cardiff Airport to potentially fly Ukrainian refugees directly into Wales.
Wizz Air, which recently began operating out of Cardiff, has offered 100,000 free seats on short-haul flights departing from Ukraine's neighbouring countries in March.
The airline company was the only EU airline to have a base in Ukraine but has had to suspend flights because of the Russian invasion.

Cardiff Airport is in discussions with the Welsh Government, who are in turn speaking to the UK Government which is in charge of the effort to help those fleeing Ukraine.
In the Senedd on Tuesday, First Minister Mark Drakeford said that airport bosses are "on standby right round the clock to be part of any further discussions."
Mr Drakeford said: "If we are able to play a part through the offer that Wizz Air has made, and Members here will know about it—Wizz Air offering to fly, at its own expense, 100,000 people to the United Kingdom, particularly from those countries that have already absorbed hundreds and hundreds of thousands of people into their communities while we struggle to get a handful of people into the United Kingdom.
"So, Wizz Air has made that offer. Cardiff Airport could be an important part of making that happen. We of course are in conversations with the chief executive and others in the team at the airport. They are on standby right round the clock to be part of any further discussions.
"There will be more meetings later this week to see whether or not playing a part in that way could become part of the way in which the United Kingdom discharges our moral obligation, as the leader of Plaid Cymru [Adam Price] said—our moral obligation to do everything we can to help."
Plaid Cymru MP Ben Lake raised the offer in the House of Commons on Monday with UK Government Minister Michael Gove. He said: "The airline Wizzair has offered to fly Ukrainian refugees from Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. There are indications that Cardiff Airport could be a destination for some of these flights.
"I understand that there have been initial conversations with the Welsh Government but would the Secretary of State lend his support to coordinating a post-flight visa processing facility at Cardiff Airport so that Ukrainians fleeing the warzone can be brought to Wales quickly and safely?"
Mr Gove said that he would "look closely" at the proposal with the Home Secretary.
"It’s important that we have appropriate biometric checks. I appreciate the offer and we have been talking to the Welsh Government about how we can coordinate our efforts," he said.
A Welsh Government spokesman said: “We are in talks with Cardiff Airport to discuss the feasibility of flying Ukrainian refugees directly into Wales.
"However the UK Government is responsible for borders and immigration policy and we continue to urge them to do more to provide sanctuary for those fleeing the atrocities in Ukraine.”
