Cara Delevingne has come a long way in her relatively short career and has gained an impressive following of fans who love her quirky style and honest personality.
From being one of the IT party girl of the 00s where she was regularly seen yacht-hopping with Rihanna and storming the runway for high end fashion designers the world over, to relaunching herself as a serious actress and campaigner, Cara has never been far from the public eye.
She first burst onto the scene as the face of Burberry's 2011 Spring campaign and she has since racked up an impressive list of modelling jobs and acting roles as she prepares to turn 30.
As she marks her milestone birthday, Cara has announced she is to dip her toe into another pond as she fronts a new docuseries called Planet Sex - due to air next year - which will see the 29-year-old explore key questions related to gender, sexuality and porn, after previously describing herself as pansexual.
Despite some huge career highs in her twenties, Cara hasn't always had a smooth ride.
She has often spoken candidly about her mental health struggles and was recently dragged into the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp defamation trial.
Here, we take a behind-the-scenes look at Cara's life as she reaches her 30th year.
Amber Heard Rumours
Cara was one of many people to be dragged into the defamation trial between former spouses Johnny Depp, 59, and Amber Heard, 36, after it was rumoured the supermodel had an "affair" with Amber.
Photos emerged allegedly showing Amber and Cara kissing in an elevator. The pictures were shared in a YouTube video by Andy Signore and quickly went viral.
The unverified images appear to be taken from an elevator security camera that Signore claimed was in the Eastern Columbia Building in downtown Los Angeles where Johnny and Amber shared a penthouse.
It is unclear when the incident is alleged to have taken place.
The woman resembling Heard appeared to lean in and the two could be seen kissing as they moved toward the exit of the lift.
Amber's friend Joshua Drew also alleged in November 2019 that the actress has a "three-way affair" with Cara and Elon Musk while she was married to Depp.
Musk has denied the allegations, telling Page Six: "Cara and I are friends, but we’ve never been intimate. She would confirm this.
"Also, I wish to confirm again that Amber and I only started going out about a month after her divorce filing. I don’t think I was ever even in the vicinity of Amber during their marriage!"
Partying with Rihanna
Cara has an A-list group of friends and it's no surprise this includes superstar and entrepreneur Rihanna. The pair first met at a fashion show and would later go on to co-star in the film Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets.
Speaking to The Sun about their relationship, 34-year-old Rihanna said: "We get silly with each other. The first time we met was because she came up to me and slapped me on the bum.
"It's portrayed like we are just party buddies but there is much more to our friendship."
She added: "We have busy schedules but no matter where either of us are in the world, we know we can just pick up the phone and unload on each other, and that we are always ready to listen or offer advice.
"She is very special to me."
Cara said: "Rihanna has always been so lovely and such a good friend. I am in awe of her and just so proud."
Secret health battle
Cara made headlines after attending the Met Gala, and not just for her racy outfit. The star bravely showed off her psoriasis at the event, something which she has rarely shown before.
Her outfit saw her wrap her whole torso in gold, leaving just her tattoos and skin condition uncovered. She also opted for a cane and crimson trousers.
Cara started suffering with stress-induced psoriasis as a result of her busy schedule. The condition is a common skin disease which causes red and itchy scaly patches on the skin.
Speaking about her decision to showcase her psoriasis, Cara told GLAMOUR Germany: "I've never been more naked in public and showing my psoriasis there was just overwhelming.
"I didn't realise at first what that would mean.
She added: "It's not a beautiful thing to have - but you also have to be proud of it. I'm proud of it in the sense that it's something that belongs to me. I used to hate my psoriasis, but that only made it worse."
Mother's addiction
From a very early age, Cara had to confront the realities of some very grown-up problems. Her mother, Pandora, had a relapsing heroin addiction which shaped Cara's life.
She spoke to Vogue about the impact her mother's addiction had on her as a child. "You grow up too quickly because you're parenting your parents," she said.
"My mother's an amazingly strong person with a huge heart, and I adore her, but it's not something you get better from, I don't think."
Luckily, Cara had her two sisters — Poppy and Chloe — to help her through her childhood. She told Glamour: "I don't know what I would do without them, it would be horrifying."
