Cara Delevingne reveals truth behind Amber Heard romance rumours: 'We were entangled'

Cara Delevingne has spoken candidly about her past relationship with Amber Heard, revealing the pair became romantically involved after Heard's split from Johnny Depp.

Appearing on The Louis Theroux Podcast, the model and actress addressed long-standing speculation that she and Heard were involved while the actress was divorcing Depp.

Referring to the rumours, Theroux said Depp was reportedly "driven crazy by the idea that Amber might be sleeping with you."

Delevingne replied: "Am I meant to comment? It's because we did a movie together, and it was called London Fields.

“He was also doing the movie. I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy. Nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose.”

Pressed by Theroux to clarify, Delevingne confirmed that they “were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled. … But she was also entangled with other people.”

When Theroux suggested: “Well, with Elon [Musk],” Delevingne simply responded: “There you go.”

Heard dated Tesla and SpaceX boss Elon Musk on and off until early 2018 after separating from Depp in 2016, just over a year after they married.

Their relationship became the subject of global attention during the pair's highly publicised 2022 defamation trial.

Elsewhere in the interview, Delevingne reflected on her own journey with sexuality, revealing comments made by disgraced Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein had a lasting impact on her.

“Harvey Weinstein called me up and said, ‘Are you gay?’” she recalled.

“And I was like, ‘Um, what do you mean?’ And he was like, ‘You should never be in a relationship with a woman… You'll never make it in the industry if people think you're gay.’

“And I really believed him, and I really took that to heart.”

Delevingne, who identifies as a lesbian, said she recognised her sexuality from a young age.

She continued: “Now I look back on it, it was super evident really young. I knew at, like, 11 years old. I had this one friend that I was like, ‘Oh, I think I care about her more than she likes me.’

“I'm very proud of it now.”

The former supermodel rose to fame on the catwalk before transitioning into acting with roles in Paper Towns, Suicide Squad and American Horror Story.
