A car which ploughed into a house leaving a scene of devastation was being chased by police.
Dramatic pictures show the wreckage left behind after an Audi S4 smashed through metal railings on Rochdale Road and crashed into a home on the street.
Three houses were left with damage after the smash at around 2am on Wednesday (January 26).

GMP have now confirmed that a short time before the crash, police attempted to stop the car over its manner of driving on Newhay Road in Rochdale.
The Audi failed to stop and a pursuit began, before the car collided with a house.
Following the smash, the occupants of the vehicle fled the scene.
No arrests have been made and police say their enquiries are ongoing.
One of the homes had its windows completely smashed through, and had to be boarded up with debris piled up in front of the house.
Debris piled up in front of the house and some car parts were strewn across the three homes and pedestrian walkway.
Police closed off Rochdale Road in Milnrow while fire crews and paramedics also attended the scene.
No injuries were reported.
The road was later reopened at 5am.
One resident who lived on Rochdale Road said they were woken up by a 'rumbling' during the early hours of the morning and when they went to see what had happened they were met with a black Audi that had smashed into their neighbours home.
Speaking to the Manchester Evening News they said: "I heard a rumbling and it shook me out of bed.
"It was about 1.45am, I was one of the first ones down here, it was me and a copper and all I saw was a car that had gone through the railings and smashed into the house.
"I stayed for a bit and they started carrying works out and then I left them to it."
Another resident who only found out about the accident hours after it had happened said they spotted a neighbour whose home was damaged by debris looking 'forlorn'.
They said: "I didn't hear anything, when I came out at 7.30am to get my paper this morning is when I saw the mess.
"The car had been taken by then but there was a man doing some repair work, and I saw one of my neighbours whose home was hit by debris looking rather forlorn.
"I slept right through it, but it's nothing something you expect to wake up to is it?"
A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 1.40am on Wednesday 26 January, police requested a vehicle to stop due to its manner of driving on Newhay Road in Rochdale.
"The car - an Audi S4 - failed to stop and officers engaged in a pursuit.
"The Audi then collided with a building on Rochdale Road and the occupants made off from the vehicle.
"This house was assessed and made safe and there are no reports of injuries.
"No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing."
