Drivers will pay more to keep their vehicle on the road from today as car tax rises.
Car tax - known more formally as Vehicle Excise Duty - is increasing in line with Retail Price Index (RPI) inflation of 10.1% from April 1.
This also affects vans and motorcycles - but VED rates for lorry drivers will be frozen, in a boost for the haulage sector.
