Car smashes into home on Scots street as emergency services seal off area

A car smashed into a home on a residential Scots street this afternoon.

Emergency services raced to Perwinnies Crescent in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen, after the alarm was raised at around 2.45pm on Tuesday. A picture taken from the scene showed a black vehicle positioned backwards after ploughing into a property on the street.

It's understood the car rolled down a hill before colliding with the home. Fire crews quickly sealed off the area while investigators checked the stability of the home.

The property appears to have been badly damaged as a result of the impact of the smash. Meanwhile the street could be seen taped off with firefighters in discussion with residents.

One local said: "A car rolled into side of house in Dubford, Bridge of Don. Fire brigade have sealed off the area while they check the stability of the house. Please avoid the area as it's potentially very dangerous."

It's not believed anyone was injured as a result of the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We received a report of a crash involving one vehicle which happened around 2.45pm on Tuesday, February 14, in Perwinnies Crescent, Bridge of Don."

A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service added: "We were called at around 3.20pm on Tuesday to the report of a car having collided with a home on Perwinnies Crescent in Bridge of Don. We sent two appliances to the scene and remain in attendance."
