A road was closed for a number of hours as a car was cut into pieces to rescue the driver inside.
Merseyside Police were called to Thomas Lane in Broadgreen just after 3pm on Friday, April 7, following reports of a crash on the road. Once officers arrived at the scene they found a Nissan Juke rolled onto the driver's side following a two car crash and closed Thomas Road in both directions.
Pictures from the scene show a build up of traffic, ambulances and fire engines on the road. The white Nissan was also seen in the middle of the road, which has had the roof and boot removed, and a number of belongings at the side of the road.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service (MFRS) said they had to remove the roof of the car to rescue the driver inside. When firefighters started working they said the woman was "conscious and breathing"
Merseyside Police said the driver of the Nissan suffered slight injuries and was being assessed at the scene. MFRS confirmed the driver was taken to hospital for assessment.
The second car was on all four wheels with no people inside. No arrests have been made.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service said: "MFRS was called to an incident on Thomas Lane, L14 earlier this afternoon. Crews were alerted at 3.11pm and on scene at 3.15pm.
"Two fire engines and the search and rescue appliance attended. On arrival, crews found two vehicles involved in a road traffic collision. The first vehicle was on its side, with its driver trapped but conscious and breathing. The second vehicle was on all four wheels, with no occupants.
"MFRS crews stabilised the first vehicle, removed its roof, and successfully removed the casualty. The casualty was assessed by North West Ambulance Service and then conveyed to hospital for further assessment.
"The incident was handed over to Merseyside Police. MFRS crews made the scene safe and departed at 4.03pm."
