A car has burst into flames on a major road in Ayrshire this afternoon sparking an emergency response.
The alarm was raised at around 2.30pm when mercy crews, including Police Scotland and Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, were alerted to reports of a vehicle blaze on the A70 between Cumnock and Ochiltree.
A video taken at the scene, which was shared on social media, shows plumes of thick, black smoke billowing into the air as bright orange flames spit from the wreckage, and engulf the entire body of the motor.
