A car has burst into flames in the sixth floor of a car park in Glasgow city centre.
Fire crews raced to the Q-Park on Sauchiehall Street after the alarm was raised at around 5.50pm on Monday. The area was quickly cordoned off while firefighters battled the blaze.
It's understood Pure Gym on Bath Street was evacuated while emergency crews dealt with the incident. Pictures taken from the scene showed firefighters talking to passers-by as shocked Glaswegians watched the incident unfold.
It's understood the fire has now been extinguished but fire crews remain at the scene to ensure the fire has not spread to other parked vehicles nearby. Meanwhile officers from Police Scotland have been called in to help identify the owner of the car.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "We received a report of a car on fire on the sixth floor of the multi-story Q-Park on Sauchiehall Street at around 5.50pm on Monday, December 19.
"We sent three appliances and remain at the scene as we check for fire spread and any damage to other vehicles. Police have been requested for vehicle identification but the fire has been extinguished. There are no reported casualties."
Police Scotland were asked for comment.
