Dublin Fire Brigade have extinguished a dangerous fire that broke out in the Dublin Port Tunnel this afternoon.
Emergency services rushed to the scene of the incident after a car caught fire in the Tunnel's South Bore. Traffic was sealed off in both directions while the incident was ongoing, although the North Bore has now reopened. Traffic delays remain in place in the area.
Dublin Fire Brigade confirmed that the car went alight in the Tunnel's South Bore, causing firefighters to tackle the blaze from the North Bore. There are no known injuries as a result of the incident.

Twitter users previously confirmed witnessing a broken down car going on fire in the area. They reported seeing a vehicle in the Tunnel's left lane heading Southbound fill up with thick smoke. Drivers have been asked to avoid the area where possible.
