NEW DELHI: New Zealand's first triumph in India after 36 years was accomplished without their injured batting stalwart Kane Williamson. Captain Tom Latham expressed gratitude to Rachin Ravindra for rising to the occasion and filling the void.
Ravindra, whose parents are from Bengaluru, scored an impressive 134 in New Zealand's first innings of 402, after they had dismissed the hosts for a mere 46 runs. India countered with 462, setting a target of 107 for victory. The 24-year-old Ravindra's composure guided the Black Caps to a remarkable eight-wicket win on Sunday.
