The March Capcom Spotlight has come and gone, bringing with it sprinklings of news about Street Fighter, Exoprimal, and more, along with a demo for March’s hotly-anticipated survival horror remake, Resident Evil 4. Capcom has a busy few months in store, with an open beta for Exoprimal, a beloved puzzle game making a comeback, and the Blue Bomber’s tactical return to modern platforms. Jill Valentine is also showing up in some unlikely places and plays a role of some kind in quelling a zombie threat alongside Resident Evil 4 star Leon S. Kennedy.
Here’s everything you might have missed from the Capcom Spotlight.
Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection trailer
Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection launches on April 14, 2023, and Capcom shared a new trailer highlighting some of the tactical RPG’s systems. The collection, which is divided into two games, includes all Battle Network games up to Battle Network 6 and has the chip trading system intact, where you can trade to fill out your Navi collection and even get new styles for Mega Man.
Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak on Xbox and PlayStation
Monster Hunter Rise’s massive Sunbreak expansion is landing on PlayStation and Xbox platforms on April 28, 2023. Sunbreak adds new monsters, a brand-new hub region and maps to explore, and the option to take NPCs on hunts so you don’t have to mess with multiplayer. The update bundles the game’s first three Title Updates with it, each with new monsters and armor, bringing the PS and Xbox versions almost on par with the Switch and Steam versions. The remaining Title Updates will launch at a later date.
Capcom is throwing in some free new DLC as well that gives beginners a new set of armor.
Ghost Trick release date
Capcom is bringing back Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective on June 30, 2023, for PC and console. This classic puzzle game from Ace Attorney creator Shu Takumi is remastered with high-resolution graphics, a revamped soundtrack from the Great Ace Attorney composer, and improved interface options. You play as Sissel, an unfortunate man who’s death is just the start of his adventure, as he uses the power of the dead to aid the living and, hopefully, remember who he used to be.
Exoprimal release date and open beta
Capcom debuted a new Exoprimal trailer highlighting some of the action game’s over-the-top mech-on-dinosaur combat, a glimpse at the time-traveling heroes determined to save the world, and a release date. Exoprimal is an online multiplayer game that, as you might expect from an online game in 2023, comes complete with a free and paid battle pass that grants new cosmetics and other items.
If you want to get a taste of Exoprimal for yourself, you can. Capcom is hosting an open beta that runs from March 17, 2023, through March 19, 2023. Pre-orders are open now as well and come with a handful of bonuses. Exoprimal launches July 14, 2023, for PS5 and PS4, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, and it will land on Game Pass then as well.
Resident Evil 4 demo and Death Island teaser
The main attraction was the Resident Evil 4 remake demo, which is live now and lets you play through the game’s iconic opening sequence in a rural village filled with murderous farmers. Capcom also slipped a brief teaser in for Resident Evil: Death Island, the upcoming CGI movie set to air in summer 2023. There’s not much new in the trailer except at the end, where we briefly see Jill Valentine make an appearance.
