Capcom confirms Resident Evil Veronica remake coming next year

As we kick off tonight’s Summer Games Fest showcase, we’ve already gotten one of the most exciting confirmations that’s certainly going to set the tone for the rest of the evening: Resident Evil Code Veronica Remake is official and comes out next year.

Capcom revealed a cryptic trailer featuring a female main character entering a strange apartment building and following an old lady, stranger still. The tone is immediately set: oppressive, atmospheric, and weird, which is precisely what is to be expected of Capcom in 2026. The trailer later confirms that this is in fact Code Veronica, though I have to admit I had no idea it was a Resident Evil game until they clearly stated it at the end.

Currently, we do not possess more details or information about the remake, as the show has just started and is currently ongoing, so we’ll update this article with any information we come across as soon as possible.

The release window is set for 2027, as the next year is shaping up to be one of the biggest and most packed years for video games ever.
