Canterbury deaths: Man and woman found dead as police seal off tattoo parlour

A man and a woman have been found dead with police seen sealing off a tattoo parlour.

Officers were called to an address in Lower Bridge Street in Canterbury, Kent where the bodies of a 54-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman were found.

They were both pronounced dead at the scene.

Police sealed off a tattoo parlour in the street on Monday night following unconfirmed reports of a suspected 'stabbing'.

Several emergency vehicles, including at least eight police vehicles and four ambulances, were seen parked up following the incident at Gothink tattoo studio.

An eyewitness told Kent Online: "There are so many police officers. At least eight police vehicles, four ambulances and dozens of armed officers.

"The ring road is completely cordoned-off at Lower Bridge Street, from St Georges roundabout to the magistrates' court."

A Kent Police spokesman said: "Detectives from the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate are investigating the deaths of two people in Canterbury.

"At 5.19pm on Monday, officers attended an address in Lower Bridge Street, where a 54-year-old man and a 35-year-old woman, who were known to each other, were pronounced deceased at the scene.

"Enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing."

Officers are not currently looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
