A boy has suffered serious facial injuries and a girl was bitten on the arm as a dog attacked them and a woman this afternoon (Saturday, March 26). The incident happened in Cannock and is being investigated by Staffordshire Police.
Both the boy and the girl have been taken to Birmingham's Children Hospital for treatment. The woman also suffered an arm injury, but did not need hospital treatment.
In a statement, Staffordshire police said: "Officers are investigating after a woman and two children were bitten by a dog in Cannock. Police were called at 12.40pm this afternoon (Saturday 26 March) to reports that a woman, a boy and a girl had received injuries after being bitten by a dog on Brook Vale.
"An eight-year-old boy has received serious facial injuries and a six-year-old girl has an arm injury. Both have been taken to Birmingham Children’s Hospital for treatment.
"The woman received an arm injury but did not require hospital treatment." It is not yet known if the three were related, Stoke-on-Trent Live reports.
