Cannabis farm found after home raided by police

Police found a cannabis farm during a raid at a home in Wirral.

On Thursday, Merseyside Police officers raided a house on Clywd Street in New Brighton. Inside they found a cannabis farm stretching across four rooms of the property, with dozens of plants of the Class B drug growing inside.

Pictures taken from inside the property show the rooms decked in hardware, heatlamps, fans and carefully potted cannabis plants that stretch more than halfway up the wall. The farm has now been dismantled by specialist police teams.

A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said: "We are appealing for information after a cannabis farm was seized in New Brighton on Thursday, February 16.

"At around 3.30pm, officers from Operation Remove executed a Misuse of Drugs Act warrant at a property on Clywd Street and discovered 75 cannabis plants across four rooms.

"The premises was made safe by our Cannabis Dismantling Team and our enquiries are ongoing to find those responsible."
