Canine Archaeology quest walkthrough in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Tramp has found something interesting while digging around the village, leading him to seek your help in a larger mission in Disney Dreamlight Valley. The Canine Archaeology quest tasks you with uncovering several hidden pieces of a lost statue.

Since this quest is focused on recovering lost items, it's essentially a scavenger hunt with a few other side tasks. This makes it fairly tricky to get done, so if you're having trouble with any part of it, here's a complete walkthrough for the Canine Archaeology quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Follow Tramp to the mysterious buried object on the Sunlit Plateau

To kick off the quest, follow Tramp to the Sunlit Plateau biome to find the buried item he sniffed out. To make pinpointing the right spot easier here, equip the Substitute Snout you previously made during The Jailbreak quest. Look for a purple smoke cloud, which will be located close to the Vitalys Mines entrance, right under the waterfall at the north end of the river that runs through this biome.

Dig out and pick up the mysterious buried object

Once you find the spot marked by a purple cloud, equip your Royal Shovel. Use it to dig out and pick up the buried object in the sparkling dig spot right under the cloud of smoke. Then, talk to Tramp about what you found and where to go searching next.

Follow Tramp to the next piece of the statue

With the first piece of the mysterious broken item that Tramp has sniffed out, start following him again to track down the next one. If you lose sight of him at any point, head to Dazzle Beach to find him, as this is where he'll be leading you. Meet up with him by the entrance to Skull Rock Island.

Fish the object out of the water on Dazzle Beach

Equip your Royal Fishing Rod and toss it into the nearby golden ripple spot to fish the object out of the water. There might be a few gold spots around the island, so it may take a few tries to find the right one.

While some other quests that involve fishing have the item sticking up out of the ripple spot, like the Shiny Tomatoes you need to unlock Pluto, this is not the case here, so it takes a bit of trial and error to find the right one.

You'll know you found the right fishing spot when you catch a Dirty Statue Pedestal. Once you have it in your inventory, chat with Tramp, who should be hanging out nearby, to progress to the next step.

Talk to Nala about the missing statue pieces

To learn more about these mysterious statue pieces you've been uncovering with Tramp, track down Nala around the valley and talk to her to see what she knows. Then, find Tramp again to continue.

Follow Tramp

Tramp's ready to go again, so follow him to the next location. This time around, he leads you to the Forgotten Lands biome. It's pretty easy to lose him during this part of the quest, so if you do, make your way to the small pond near the northwest corner of the Forgotten Lands biome. Once you're there, chat with Tramp to formulate a plan for what to do next.

Chase away the Ravens from the final piece of the statue

From where you just chatted with Tramp, walk a few feet south to find three Ravens flying around another purple smoke cloud next to the treehouse that's stuck in place in this biome. Run at each one to clear them out of the way so you can access the final dig spot for this quest.

Dig up the final piece of the statue

Equip your trusty Royal Shovel and dig the sparkling spot underneath the purple smoke right in the middle of the area you just cleared the Ravens away from. You now have the third and final piece of the statue Tramp's been sniffing out, so it's time to get to work piecing them back together.

Visit Lady and Tramp's House

To get going with the reassembling, venture to Lady and Tramp's house. Like most homes around the valley, this one can be placed anywhere you like, whether it be in the main village, a Floating Island, or a DLC world. If you don't remember where you put it, check each map for a house icon with a purple circle around it, since their home will be marked with it when you reach this step. Head inside once you find it.

Inside their home, approach the bench under the window with green and blue curtains in the living room area. Interact with the sparkling spot on the ground right in front of it three times to place each piece of the statue you found. Talk to Tramp about it once you're done.

Talk to Cogsworth

The statue is looking a bit rough, so find and talk to Cogsworth to see if he has any ideas for making it look better. Luckily, he does, and he gives you some helpful Metal Polish that can be used to help it become shiny and new again.

Use the Metal Polish to clean up the Lady and Tramp Statue

Head back to Lady and Tramp's house, approach the statue you previously placed, and interact with it to use the Metal Polish. After this, it'll be restored to perfect condition. Talk to Tramp one last time to officially complete the Canine Archaeology quest.

If you're up for some additional missions after finishing this one, there are plenty of other tricky ones to tackle. Next, you might work on The Moose Hunt quest, finding all Mementos, the Portrait of a Lady quest, and finding Tramps Bones.
