A 'serious' crash on the A4162 Canford Lane involved a car and a pedestrian, a police spokesperson has confirmed. Canford Lane remains closed this evening (April 17) following a collision at 2.50pm this afternoon.
Motorists in the area are being advised to take alternate routes while the road closure remains in place. Traffic monitoring system inrix reports Canford Lane is closed while accident investigation work is underway.
Avon and Somerset Police are appealing to witnesses of the crash, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to get in touch on 101. A spokesperson for the force described the crash as 'serious'.

They told BristolLive: "Emergency services are at the scene of a road-related incident in Canford Lane, Bristol, today (Monday 17 April). We were called at around 2.50pm following reports of a serious collision between a pedestrian and a car.
"The road has been closed from Canford Lane to Sandyleaze and people are advised to seek alternative routes. If you saw anything, or have dashcam or CCTV footage, please call 101 and quote reference 5223088511."
"Traffic monitoring system inrix reports: "A4162 Canford Lane in both directions closed due to accident investigation work from Sandyleaze (Canford) to Coombe Lane ( Westbury on Trym). Traffic is coping well. Affecting traffic between Westbury on Trym and Sea Mills."
