Nine children, who recovered from leukaemia, met Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his visit to Chennai recently.
The children, beneficiaries of the Ray of Light Foundation, a non-governmental organisation that has been supporting treatment of children with cancer for the past 20 years, got to interact with the Prime Minister in the green room of the Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium where he had come to inaugurate the 44th edition of the International Chess Olympiad last week.
“He spent close to 10 minutes with the children. It was just to meet and greet the Prime Minister,” said the foundation’s founder-trustee Priya Ramachandran.
