Cancer survivor meets stranger who saved her life after donor flies 5,000 miles

A cancer survivor whose life was saved by a random stranger’s stem cells has finally met her saviour after she travelled 5,000 miles from the US to share a celebratory cocktail with her.

Katie Minton underwent a stem cell transplant after battling leukaemia for the second time in 2017 at the age of just 17.

The procedure - made possible by the Anthony Nolan charity - was the best hope of a cure for the Brit teenager whose cancer had returned for a second time in just a year.
