The ACT has inadvertently rolled out the welcome mat for organised crime. By continually refusing to introduce anti-consorting laws similar to those enacted in other Australian jurisdictions, the ACT government has allowed outlaw motorcycle gangs to treat Canberra as a safe haven.
While other states have actively cracked down on these criminal syndicates, the capital unfortunately remains a preferred destination for national runs and annual gang gatherings.
