People can still buy the two Platinum Jubilee coins issued by the Royal Mint. Although already marking a landmark year in the Royal Family’s history, even more sentimental value is set to be added to the memorabilia after the Queen’s death on Thursday.
On the Royal Mint website, the 50p coin, which features a commemorative Platinum Jubilee portrait of Her Majesty and an Osborne Ross design on the back, can be bought for £7, plus delivery. This was the first time a royal event had been celebrated with a 50p coin, and it comes with a booklet which looks back over The Queen’s previous jubilee celebrations.
The second keepsake is a £5 coin, featuring the commemorative Platinum Jubilee portrait of the Queen on horseback plus a John Bergdahl design on the reverse, which is still available to buy for £10. The packaging also explored how the Queen's coinage portraits captured her growth from a young queen to an experienced monarch.

Both pieces of commemorative memorabilia are struck to 'Brilliant Uncirculated' standard, so it is a finer finish than circulating coins. Shipping is expected within three months of paying for either coin. The 50p coin can be bought here and the £5 coin is available here.
As they are still available to purchase, it is currently unlikely that these coins could be resold for more than their original prices. However, limited coins are known to increase in value once they are no longer available to buy, especially if they mark a significant occasion, as is the case with these.
The Royal Mint also released 499 editions of Her Majesty The Queen’s Jubilee Half-Sovereign Set, containing coins to mark the Queen’s Golden, Diamond and Platinum Jubilee years, at £1,150, with the website saying they are awaiting stock.
Likewise, the Queen’s Jubilee Sovereign Set, featuring three Gold Bullion coins and costing £1,800, is also awaiting stock. The 100 editions of Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Gold Three-Coin Set are no longer available.
