The Queen’s funeral service will be private with 2,000 guests paying tribute at Westminster Abbey. However, thousands are expected to line the Mall to Buckingham Palace as the funeral procession takes place at the end of the service.
Around 2,000 heads of state, dignitaries, European royals, and other key figures will be invited to Westminster Abbey for the Queen’s funeral. Millions more will pay their respects by watching the service on TV.
Ahead of the funeral the coffin will rest at Westminster Hall for four days and will be moved the short distance to Westminster Abbey on the morning of the service. After the funeral a full military procession will accompany the coffin down The Mall.
Thousands are expected to gather along the Mall to pay their respects as the State Gun-Carriage carrying the coffin is pulled along by Royal Navy ratings, Mirror reports. The procession will end at Hyde Park Corner, with the coffin transported to Windsor Castle by road for the committal service at St George's Chapel.
