KARUR: Chief minister M K Stalin on Saturday said he had no time to react to needless criticism against his government which has been relentlessly serving the people over the past one year.
"I don't respect the criticism of people who don't have shame. I have no time to waste replying to pointless criticisms because I am running short of time to serve the people. The happy faces of the people speak volumes of the DMK rule in the state," Stalin said at a government function in Karur. The chief minister inaugurated 95 projects completed at a cost of 26.80 crore, laid the foundation for 99 new ones costing 581.4 crore and distributed welfare measures worth 500.8 crore to a total of 80,750 beneficiaries.
Stalin said his government had straightaway jumped into action and implemented schemes soon after taking charge instead of using the first one year to study the functioning of departments and planning. The DMK government had fulfilled a majority of electoral promises given to the people of Karur, he said. The chief minister also expressed satisfaction at his meeting with industrialists on Friday night and farmers on Saturday.
Ministers K N Nehru and V Senthil Balaji, Lok Sabha Congress MP S Jothimani, Karur corporation mayor Kavitha Ganesan, collector Dr T Prabhushankar, MLAs and others were present.
