WASHINGTON _ House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she isn't disinviting President Donald Trump from delivering his State of the Union address _ the California Democrat insists she just wants him to come another time, once the partial government shutdown has ended.
Trump hasn't said whether he will accept the recommendation to postpone. In a letter to Pelosi on Thursday announcing his decision to cancel her official travel to Afghanistan, he cryptically mentioned he "look(ed) forward to seeing her soon."
What if Trump doesn't want to reschedule? What if he's intent on standing at the dais on the floor of the House of Representatives on Jan. 29 as originally planned?
