Campaign to raise £10,000 to help asylum seekers travel around Newcastle

A crowdfunding campaign aims to raise £10,000 to provide travel passes for asylum seekers so they can attend doctor’s appointments, legal consultations and English language classes.

The Newcastle City of Sanctuary started the Just the Ticket campaign after seeing the struggles asylum seekers go through when needing to travel.

Some accommodation is on the outskirts of Newcastle, with one a 90-minute walk from the city centre, close to Newcastle Airport. This makes it incredibly difficult to access key support services such as healthcare appointments, legal support, and English language classes.
