A campaign has been launched to construct a new Milngavie health and care centre by Liberal Democrat candidate Susan Murray.
An initial bid for the project was made in 2020 by the East Dunbartonshire Health and Social Care Partnership, however, it was rejected.
The new fight for the clinic comes after local GP practices sent a letter to Greater Glasgow Care to protest the National Care Service proposal and promote localised community based care.

Susan Murray told Glasgow Live: "We're getting a steady flow of people who are not content with the service or access to GPs in Bearsden and Milngavie.
"The new health centre has been spoken about for a number of years, so Bearsden and Milngavie have a relatively high proportion of older people.
"Which means the number of long-term conditions that need be treated is larger. It would make a huge impact because some of our old and frail people have to travel to Kirkintilloch at the moment.
"Having accessible services on the doorstep makes much more sense.
"It would make a big difference to GPs in general to have a premises that is fit for purpose, that is just modern and provides the facilities required."
A spokesperson from NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde said: "Our transformational change strategy Moving Forward Together sets out our vision for where and how services will be delivered in the future.
"Two key aspects of that vision are that we want to enable people to stay in their communities accessing the care they need, and to access high quality primary and community care services close to home.
"We are currently in the process of developing an Infrastructure Strategy for NHS GGC to support delivery of the Moving Forward Together vision.
"Taken alongside the Infrastructure Strategies of our Health and Social Care Partnerships, we will then carry out a process of prioritisation, and develop a GG&C programme of investment over the short, medium and longer term, subject to funding being made available from the Scottish Government."
