Cameron Goode’s college teammate compares him to extreme movie characters

The Miami Dolphins used their first of two seventh-picks in the 2022 NFL draft to select California linebacker Cameron Goode.

Goode was a productive part of the Golden Bears’ defense during his collegiate career, but one of the most interesting parts about him is the difference in his demeanor on the field as opposed to off of it.

Goode’s collegiate roommate and teammate Josh Drayden once compared the difference to a number of extreme characters.

“It’s like James Bond or John Wick,” Drayden said. “It’s like Superman going into a phone booth or a werewolf when there’s a full moon.”

The newest Dolphin seems to be calm and cool when he’s around the facility or just hanging around, but when he steps onto the field for a game there’s a switch that’s flipped.

That competitive spirit is something that Miami’s coaching staff clearly likes about him.

“Extremely intelligent,” defensive coordinator Josh Boyer said of Goode on Wednesday. “He plays with a high motor and is very physical.”

The rookie will have to use that energy if he wants to make an impact during his first season in the NFL.
