Cameron Diaz 'likely won't ever return to Hollywood' after comeback movie 'chaos'

Cameron Diaz's Hollywood comeback looks set to be a one-off due to her hatred of 'drama' on movie sets.

It comes after the production of Cameron's first movie since 2014 - an action comedy film with Jamie Foxx - was reportedly thrown into chaos, with Jamie having a "meltdown" following issues on set.

The pair are set to star in Back In Action, which is currently being filmed in London, and is the first film Cameron, 50, has worked on since musical Annie, and since her retirement from acting in 2018.

Problems are said to have arisen on set, with 55-year-old Jamie, an executive producer, thought to have sacked four members of staff, including his driver, an executive producer, an assistant director and a unit director.

A source has said that while Cameron, who made her name in 1990s films My Best Friend's Wedding and The Mask, does not have any issues with Jamie, she likely won't return to acting after the film wraps, as she's found being away from her family hard.

The source said Cameron also "hates the drama and confrontation" that occurs on movie sets.

Cameron had announced her retirement from acting in 2018 and said she was planning on focusing on family life with her husband, Good Charlotte singer, Benji Madden.

The happy couple welcomed a daughter, Raddix Madden, via surrogate in 2019, and have kept their baby out of the spotlight.

A source told Daily Mail: "These back-to-back 10-hour workdays have been a lot on her and she hates being away from Raddix.

"Cameron loves being a mom more than anything in the world.

"She hates drama and confrontation. This is why she retired from the business in the first place."

The source added Jamie and Cameron are close, and they would be surprised if the going-ons on set caused any tension between the pair.

Last year, Jamie revealed he had managed to bring his pal out of retirement.

Sharing a phone call between the two of them, Cameron could be heard saying: "Jamie Foxx, only you could get me back in action. I can’t frickin' wait it’s gonna be a blast!"

In September, The Shrek star was a guest on The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon on Friday night where she discussed how she found her feet getting back into acting.

Asked if she was nervous or excited about her return, she told the host: "I'm both. It's a little bit of muscle memory, you know what I mean?

"It's sort of like I did that for so long, it's kind of like the process, I kind of just fell back into it. But it feels a little bit different."

Cameron also explained that she was excited to be back on set with Jamie.

She said: “I’ve also made two movies with Jamie, which is amazing. ... The last movie I made was 'Annie' with Jamie, and so the first movie back is this film with Jamie.
