Cameron Diaz has opted to shun Hollywood beauty standards and confessed she 'never washes her face'.
The 49-year-old actress recently opened up on how her life has changed since she unofficially retired from the movie industry in 2014, making her final film appearance as Miss Hannigan in the big screen remake of the musical Annie.
Speaking to RuPaul’s Drag Race judge Michelle Visage on her BBC Rule Breakers podcast, Cameron admitted she fell victim to “all of the societal objectification and exploitations that women are subjected to”.
The Charlie’s Angels star said she constantly compared herself to others, and said it was “hard not to look at yourself and judge yourself against other markers of beauty”.
But now, the mother-of-one has ditched vanity and is focusing on being comfortable in her own skin.
She told Michelle that since quitting Hollywood, she’s embraced a side of herself she didn’t know excited.
“The last eight years, girl - I'm like wild. I'm like a wild animal, like a beast!” she laughed.
The Holiday star said she has now rebelled against beauty standards, and barely washes her face.
“I literally do nothing. I like never wash my face… Twice a month if I'm lucky, I'll be like, ‘Oh, I better put this on. One time works, right?’ Like is that all I have to do? I'm just not in that place right now like where I put any energy,” Cameron quipped.
The actress, who wed rocker Benji Madden in 2015 after a whirlwind romance, said sitting in front of a mirror having make-up applied every day eventually became “toxic”, and she began to pick herself apart.
“You just start to pick yourself apart, you know. And you're like, ‘Why I am sitting here like being so mean to myself?’ My body's strong, my body's capable. Why am I going to talk down to it? Why am I going to be mean to it when it's like carried me this far?” Cameron stated.
Nowadays, the There’s Something About Mary star said she “doesn’t care” what she looks like.
“I don't care. Literally, the last thing I think about on a daily basis - like maybe not at all during the day - is what I look like,” she said.
