Aberdeen have opened talks with Liverpool with a deal for Calvin Ramsay to leave Pittodrie close to being agreed.
The English Premier League giants have made an official offer and negotiations remain on-going.
Liverpool went in with a guaranteed £3.5 million offer but are willing to go up to £4 million up front.
They will then put significant add-ons into the deal that are linked to Ramsay’s progression at Anfield and with the Scottish national team.
A deal is close and Liverpool sources are confident a deal can be agreed this week.
Ramsay is waiting for an agreement to be reached and to be given permission to travel south for a medical and to agree personal terms.
It would be a dream move for the 18-year-old who has come through the ranks with the Dons.
Ramsay’s statistics were as good as any right-back in Europe, in terms of attacking, in the first half of the season.
Aberdeen turned down bids from Bologna and Leeds back in the January window.
The Dons will use the funds to rebuild Jim Goodwin’s squad with the boss looking at a major summer overhaul.
Albanian international Ylber Ramadani is set to check in, while he is also keen on a move for Celtic’s Liam Scales, St Mirren’s Charles Dundee and former St Mirren pair Jamie McGrath and Connor Ronan.
Hover, the Dons face competition from Hearts to land Ronan.
