Calvin Ramsay has revealed his frustration having failed to make a Premier League appearance so far for Liverpool following an injury hit start to life at the club.
The 19-year-old full-back signed from Aberdeen in the summer after impressing in the SPL last season. However, a back injury has limited his game time and the man who was expected to provide competition for Trent Alexander-Arnold has made just two appearances so far for the club.
He made his debut for the Reds as an 87th minute substitute in their Champions League win against Napoli last month before also starting in a Carabao Cup win against Derby the following week.

He is currently in Dubai, training as part of a 33-man first team squad as they prepare for friendlies against Lyon and AC Milan while many first team stars remain at the World Cup. This includes Alexander-Arnold, which means that Ramsay will be likely to start both friendlies as he hopes to impress Jurgen Klopp.
He spoke to the Liverpool FC website while on a break from training, revealing his hopes of securing more first team action going forward after a frustrating start to life on Merseyside. He spoke about training before revealing the details of his injury.
He said: "It’s been good. Obviously I arrived a couple of days ago and trained – it’s been hot but it’s been good. I think this 12, 13 days will be good for all the boys to get some fitness after having a break – especially for me, missing pre-season. I think for me this is like my pre-season, so I’m enjoying it and it’s good weather.
"It was very frustrating because obviously I’d just signed for the club. I just wanted to come in and get to work and start training and playing. But I found out in my medical that I had a stress fracture in my back, and it wasn’t the best news. I was out for a couple of months with that, but I just worked hard in the gym every day and tried to get back as soon as I could. Now that I’m back training, I’m just enjoying it. Hopefully I can get some minutes."
Ramsay admitted his pride at having made his Champions League debut, but now has his sights set on making his Premier League bow ahead of the league's restart on Boxing Day when Liverpool face Aston Villa.
He explained: "It’s an amazing moment – it’s what every youngster wants to do, play in the Champions League and at the highest level possible. I’m just lucky to have made my debut. My family being there as well was special, so I’m just delighted with that.
"Hopefully", he added when asked about his Premier League hopes. "That’s the aim now. I just need to keep working hard. This is a good chance to show what I’ve got. Hopefully I can make my Premier League debut as well."
