Calvin Miller a transfer free agent as former Celtic kid departs Chesterfield by 'mutual consent'

Former Celtic starlet Calvin Miller is on the hunt for a new club after departing Chesterfield.

The ex- Hoops kid - who spent ten years at the club from the age of 12 - left back in May 2020 and has since bounced about the English Lower Leagues with Harrogate Town, Notts County and most recently the Spireites. However, his time with the National League side has come to an end with the club releasing a short statement.

It read: "Calvin Miller’s contract has today been terminated by mutual consent. The club would like to thank Calvin for his services and wish him all the best for the future."

He made a total of 45 appearances for Chesterfield netting one goal and providing one assist. His old club sit fourth in England's fifth tier after 13 games as they bid to get themselves into the Football League.

They trail leaders Notts County - one of Miller's former clubs - by six points in the race for promotion via the automatic league winners spot.

On coming to the end of his time at Celtic in May 2020, he posted online: "10 years of unbelievable memories and friends for life and been lucky enough to live my dream so young playing such a short part in a incredible team.

"Unfortunately all good things come to an end at some point but it’s time to take the next step in my career, cheers to everyone."
