Calvin Harris insists he's not to blame for ex-girlfriend Rita Ora's second album flop

Calvin Harris appears to have shut down claims he is responsible for Rita Ora's second album being scrapped after their split.

Since their one-year romance came to an end in June 2014, Rita had claimed that her former beau had prevented her from performing their hit I Will Never Let You Down at an awards show.

Months after, it emerged that her second album would not be released with many believing that Harris whose real name is Adam Wiles wouldn't authorise several songs.

Since the speculation came to light, the Scottish star had been tightlipped on the situation but has now broken his eight-year silence.

In a tweet to his 11.8 million followers, he said: "Entire thing is a myth, there is one unreleased song I worked on and it isn't good."

It comes after a Rita fan had claimed that her career would have "torpedoed" if she had been able to release the music in question.

They tweeted: "Louis Theroux interviewing Rita Ora and asking about her cancelled second roc nation album???? This is my own personal Princess Diana Newsnight moment.

"A reminder that if Rita's Calvin Harris produced second album (I Will Never Let You Down was the first of MANY tracks) hadn't been torpedoed she would have probably been one of the biggest pop stars in the world for like 2 years, I have never gotten over it."

Calvin's tweet was welcomed by fans with one tweeting: "Thank you for finally clearing this up. It was so tiring to see and/or read about a scrapped album produced by you the whole time when it wasn't even true.|

"Wow, that rumour has been going on for the longest! glad you debunked it," said a second.

Before a third commented: "It's good you clarified this, and I'm glad Rita & you are cool."

Rita who is now reportedly married to Aussie film director Taika Waititi has previously spoken about the music she and Calvin worked on together before their split.

She said: "It's one of these things that… Well, for me it's in the past, whatever I say somehow turns into a headline and it becomes a story again."

In 2017 she went on to say that Calvin is a "great guy" and there was no longer any bad blood between the former couple after she was left red-faced over their split.

Calvin took to Twitter to share that their relationship was over with initial reports suggesting Rita didn't know this was going to happen.
