Calvin Harris' gig sees raving 'gran' cheered on as she shows off serious moves

A dancing 'gran' showed the young folks how it's done as she raved to Calvin Harris at his Glasgow gig.

The nameless woman was cheered on by crowds, who formed a circle around her, as she broke out some serious moves on Saturday night, at Scotland's national stadium.

The gig marked Calvin's long-awaited return to home soil, following his performance in Glastonbury.

In incredible footage shared with Glasgow Live, the raver jumped up and down and waved her hands in the air as 2011 hit We Found Love played, as her fellow concert-goers cheered for her.

Dressed practically for the occasion, the lady wore glasses, a white bucket hat, a pink and white chequered shirt and white shorts.

She beamed during the two video clips, knee-twisting and pointing away.

Bystanders even asked for selfies with the crowd favourite.

At several points, her bucket hat was stolen, but it was then returned.

A Twitter user who shared the footage said: "Somebody's gran was absolutely loving life at Calvin Harris last night."

One tweeter who shared the second clip said: "Hahaha, yes gran."

After the set, Calvin, 38, shared a dramatic picture on Instagram of the huge crowd with fireworks behind the stage.

Under the photo, he wrote "Scotland!", followed with a Saltire emoji.

Many followers rushed to praise the gig, with one person writing: "That was next level", and another saying: "Fantastic night, fantastic atmosphere."

A third wrote: "The best night ever last night".

Calvin's Glastonbury gig last weekend left some disappointed as they struggled to hear his DJ set.

The DJ superstar spun the decks at the Somerset-based festivals’ iconic Arcadia stage, with his set kick-starting at 1am on Sunday morning – shortly after Paul McCartney ’s impressive Pyramid stage headline performance.

However, the size of the crowds and the placement of the inward-facing speakers meant those at the edge were left wanting the volume turned up.

Videos show the singing in the crowd could, at some points, be heard louder than the music itself.

Meanwhile, one clip sees the sound abruptly increasing – causing some to move on to other attractions around the site.

One festival goer told the Mirror : “I could hear the music from the nearby pizza van better than Calvin!”

But, another crowd member who was closer to the action, said: “I could hear perfectly, it was sick!”

Fans on Twitter were divided by the performance, too.

One wrote: “I love seeing Calvin Harris but tonight at glastonbury Arcadia was not it, sound was so low, the mixing into songs wasn’t that great either…so gutted,”

Another said: “As good as Arcadia looks aesthetically , can’t help but feel disappointed. No real life to it & soundwise not great, gutter as was excited for fourtet and Calvin Harris- would have been considerably better on a real stage.”
