Callum Smith takes his next step towards his dream of becoming a two-weight world champion when he faces Frenchman Mathieu Bauderlique in a WBC eliminator on Saturday.
The 12-round contest features on the undercard of the world heavyweight title clash between Anthony Joshua and Oleksandr Usyk in Saudi Arabia.
It is the second time the former Archbishop Beck student has appeared on the support card for Joshua-Usyk. The former super-middleweight world champion’s second-round knockout of Gilbert Castillo came ahead of the heavyweights’ first meeting at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in September.

It represented the first stoppage of Castillo’s career and went some way to silencing the critics who doubted Smith’s effectiveness after stepping up to light-heavyweight.
A world title fight with current holder Artur Beterbiev is now the carrot for Smith, who dreams of bowing out at the top. He said: “It’s all hypothetical and a dream but I’d love to become world champion and retire as champion.”
However, former Olympic bronze medallist Bauderlique represents a stern test and comes into the eliminator off the back of nine straight wins.
