There has been a call to sort out the "shocking" weeds along the roads and pavements in South Belfast.
SDLP councillor Gary McKeown has called on the Department for Infrastructure to take action over the weeds which he says is causing frustration to local residents and businesses.
He highlighted a stretch of road on Annadale Embankment which he feels needs to be addressed.

He said: "The state of maintenance of weeds along pavements, bike lanes and roadways in Belfast is shocking at the minute. It's causing frustration among residents and businesses who see it as feeding into the wider lack of care and attention which is being paid to the upkeep of the city.
"While I think there was some degree of willingness to allow leeway during the pandemic, the COVID excuse can no longer be used to justify why our streets and roadways aren't being maintained to a standard that everyone expects.
"As we try to encourage people back into Belfast, my concern is that by creating the impression that the city isn't being looked after, it will cause a snowball effect that will lead to standards slipping further.
"I have been in contact with Department for Infrastructure officials, who need the resources to deal with the issues under their remit, to get the weed maintenance issues sorted."
A Departmental spokesperson said: “The Department’s 2022 weed control programme in Belfast is underway and plans for South Belfast are currently being finalised.”
