Barry Couldwell, 77, lives in Arnold and is now retired. Barry thinks that the building could do with a revamp.
He said: “I think that the building could possibly be revamped for modification, for 70 years I’ve known Arnold so I’ve just seen it change. Like the market, if it’s run correctly it could be a kicker off for other areas.
“There’s no fantastic buildings anymore but still, it could get better. With higher rents, it does make it harder for people to buy.”
Roy Smith, from Arnold, says that many areas in Nottingham have unattractive buildings. The 69-year-old, who is retired, said: “There’s always areas that become modernised but the whole area doesn’t get investment.
“So like here [on Arnot Hill Road] there’s a not so good looking building but if you go further into Arnold, it’s great. It isn’t just Arnold. I would like to see this building become better looking as long as the businesses aren’t affected because I’m guessing it would do them a favour too.”
