A headteacher at a primary school has written to her MP saying that 'SATs must go' after students were 'reduced to tears this week'. Kerry Forrester, the head at Tarporley C of E Primary School in Tarporley, Cheshire, has slammed the exams and hit out on social media.
Kerry was inundated with replies from parents as her tweet picked up steam, going viral on Wednesday, May 10, 2023. SATs have been taking place across the country this week.
As reported by BirminghamLive, head fumed: "Today was not acceptable. I cannot believe what we put our 10 and 11 year old children through for the government. SATS must go. Today I have written to my MP and urge you to do the same. @NAHTnews @NAHTCheshire @simonkidwell @edwardtimpson."
